about

name: A'myshtea Rhen / Amelia "Amy" quo Rhen / Livianaage: 32 wintersgender: womansexual/romanctic preference: whateveraether: mildly earth/slightly umbral
[ multiple aethers are pocketed in her being, tucked under the primary one at the moment, as if there are multiple lives contained. they seem to shift from time to time, but form a relative balance. ]
height: 5'10"appearance:dark brown hair with red highlights. dark magenta eyes. fairly well-built for a miqo'te woman.other basics:a'mysthea is an adventurer and sellsword. formerly of a seeker tribe, an A' tribe (this one "arlich," a local name for some nearby wildlife), she was recruited by garleans when they pushed into gyr abanian land.despite her "foreign" background, she rose the ranks throughout her 13-year career, after six years, to become a former centurio of the 12th legion. but after years of work, she is a disgraced, traitorous veteran, despised in the middle ranks of the garlean military.despite her history, she seems to be doing fairly in eorzea. she shared all she could wih the alliance such that they could prevail in gyr abania, which has given her and those who spoke to her peace.she's survived capture, cleared an 8mil bounty off her head, and plenty else. with some sudden windfalls, including part of the bounty, now she lives with her former tribemate in the goblet as they both dive in to discover who she is - and has become....some of her former colleagues have guesses. lingering in the garlean army are stories about her true self. some call her shy and easygoing; others know her as seductive. those who want her head name her as a ruthless ex-general named Amelia Quo Rhen, or 'Amy.'

her many

A'myshtea's mind and soul split due to trauma, resulting in multiple aethers residing within her.those with aethersight are the most able to distinguish, but certain personality tics are often enough to help.

A'myshtea

when present; relatively gentle eyes and demeanor. will keep a conversation up. dry sense of humor.the "host"/primary one of them; who you will most likely be speaking with on a day-to-day basis. relatively blank in personality, and a go-with-the-flow type of person. bit shy, but appreciates warmness and friends. doesn't appreciate rudeness, but will try to deal. overwhelmed by sudden loud noises and violence in excess.decent adventurer and hunter, and gets jobs done promptly and with little trouble. just doesn't like trouble at all, anyway. she's trying to leave it behind.[ playlist | | | | ]

Amelia ("Amy") quo Rhen

when present; aetheric balance pushes to umbral. blunt and commandeering. bantering and bold. Amy makes it known she is not a force to be reckoned with.when the Garleans recruited A'myshtea from her village, they stripped her heritage and even butchered her name. the violence proved to be so brutal that A'myshtea couldn't bear it. thus formed Amelia, or Amy for short, who tried to fit in with the ranks and eventually became a high-ranking officer.when they found out about "Amy" and the others she was deemed unfit to serve. soon, Amy found herself in a crisis: if not to kill and maim, what was a blade for? A'myshtea has found a role in her the meantime as a blade-for-hire, but Amy still struggles with her original nature.[ playlist | | | | ]

Liviana

when present; aetheric balance pushes to astral. "feminine" and seductive. courteous but aloof. sly yet sweet.bloody violence is not the only violence, and Garleans were glad to have a Miqo'te to dote upon. and worse. Liviana emerged to help survive these unpleasant encounters, and to step in the path of men who intended similar abuses towards other women.some Garlean troops did not see Liviana as a threat (despite Amy's rank), and so Liviana has heard many matters of great import, which the others are aware of. therefore, she's a cautious information broker within the system. she'll also appear if another woman seems to be in danger.[ playlist | | | | ]

Spring

when present; aetheric balance tips highly astral. elusive, doe-eyed.once hidden in the depths of Mysh's body and soul, Spring holds the gift of the Echo. this invokes rapid healing. because she was tucked away for so long, she's still learning about the world - and her other selves.[ playlist | | | | ]

((final personal note: I'm 'plural' irl but don't center my character around these facts; this information is more for consistency and reference purposes, as well as personal flair and funsies. I've never had to enforce this request, but please don't be weird about it OOC.))

hooks

reasons your character may wish to know A'myshtea and company...

A'myshtea is a bit of a freelancer. Which is to say "merc." But she does enough other work, and given enough intel to the Alliance, that the Adventurers' Guild and inns don't mind her.

Those with aethersight or aether sensitivty will notice a rift in her aether. Or more like a pocket. In the midst of her fairly neutral aether - a concept she doesn't have much awareness of, nor control over - there's a more stratified umbral aether, and a more stratified astral aether. Like multiple living aethers within one.
[If you want to use this hook, ask me to make sure this is the case at the moment! It shifts occasionally.]

Ala Mhigan Resistance leaders and warriors may recognize the familiar visage of the Miqo'te, given her work in the 12th Legion holding ground in the northern regions of Ala Mhigo and west of current Garlean territory. Earlier veterans knew her as fearless and unwavering, famous for her aspirations at her age - and as a foreign, non-native Garlean commander. Younger ones, though, hear word of the woman herself sparing lives.

...or, perhaps, you knew A'myshtea as a peer or superior during your (and her) time serving the empire. Or you knew Amy. Or Liviana. Rumors among more sympathetic foot soliders were that upon her designation as mentally unfit, they planned on killing her. It's unknown whether the rumors of her misdeeds were actually well-founded; she had helped so many peers and fought so valiantly. And despite this, chances were, her enemies would take care of her... extrajudicially. She is always looking for an empathetic ear and ally, because the Garleans have too many eyes across the land.

Garleans more interested in science than warfare are also attempting to get their hands on her, with their own bounty. Those with access to databases - scientists, higher-up officials, spies - may have access to fuller details about her, including her "personalities," thanks to a scientist named Helena nan Valor, who seemed to run a Weapons Project offshoot on A'myshtea's data.

[do these feel out-of-place for your character, or do you have something better you'd like to try? always willing to chat.]

out-of-character info

General RP guidelines:
• No ERP
• No partnered romance
• Walk-up/tell RP approachess welcome
• 21+ preferred
I especially enjoy:
• Long-term relations of most types; mutual character development, or at least playing well into characters' "natural" dynamics.
• Slice-of-life weaved into longer-term situations.
• Intense, longer plots.
• Mature/dark/edgy themes. Do ask me first, I'm down for a lot.
Big nos:
• Skirting around hooks to metagame. I give you a lot, if you can manage anything. Send a /tell if you aren't sure, I'd LOVE to work with you on hooks, or just make conversation in-character.
• Being openly cruel about your politics of respect. This includes transphobia, racism, and pedophilia. Respect others, and don't be weird, or else catch some hands.
• Edgier/mature scenes with those under 21.
• In-character interactions bleeding out-of-character, and vice-versa.
• Shaming others for lore-bending/lore-breaking if it isn't affecting you.
I am:
• Mid-20s woman IRL, been text roleplaying for upwards of 14 years.
• A mostly mirror-type roleplayer. Will do paragraph roleplays as well as rapid-fire dialogue scenes so long as each matches the tone of the situation. I'm awful at writing plots but will give yours the amount of effort you put into it.
• Actually medically "plural" in real life. A'myshtea is a very loose, fantasy-based interpretation of this. However, her story and personality(s) diverge greatly from mine. Ask (respectfully) if you're curious.
• Using an "alt" toon for this. I'm lazy yet want to actually learn Warrior.
>>thanks for reading, have a meme as a reward<<For cheerier encounters, my toon main is a spunky adventurer. (Canonically, the two know each other. but I obviously can't have them in one place in-game...)new twitter for ffxiv stuff!
